“Improving the energy efficiency of KAJ by modernizing production lines, implementing thermal modernization, and investing in renewable energy sources”

The purpose of the project is to carry out thermal modernization work and replace production lines, along with the installation of photovoltaic panels with a total capacity of 248.05 kW, in order to improve the company’s energy performance.
The scope of the project is the result of a thermal modernization audit and an energy efficiency audit, which identified the need for:
− insulation of the exterior walls of the office and production buildings,
− insulating the flat roofs of the office and production buildings,− replacing windows and doors,
− replacing the gas boiler used for central heating and hot water with an air-source heat pump; replacing lines A and B with new, more efficient systems; and installing a 248.05 kWp PV array.
The project is primarily aimed at KAJ Sp. z o.o. and its customers in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries who use roll-on packaging. The results of the project will benefit manufacturers of cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, and personal care items, who will gain access to a greater quantity of high-quality packaging produced through a more energy-efficient process. Indirect beneficiaries of the project will also include the end users of these products and the general public, thanks to reductions in energy consumption and CO₂ emissions.
According to the results of the audit (thermal modernization and energy efficiency), the planned investment will enable savings of approximately 97% in primary energy for thermal modernization, while the replacement of production lines and the installation of PV panelswill result in savings of approximately 72% compared to current consumption.
In summary, this environmental investment will enable primary energy savings of approximately 87%, which meets the requirements of the competition documentation (minimum 30%).
